The Knockout Beer Gravity Bong
I used to prefer my knockouts served as Fireball shots and right hooks, but this Knockout, a new twist on the beer bong, might leave those standards unconscious and bleeding from the ear on the floor. Designed for attachment around any standard bottle top, the Knockout looks like a bent metal straw fitted with a bright red Super Mario plumbing pipe. Once in place it can serve as a standard beer bong or, packed at its smaller tip with a bowl of herbs, a water or gravity bong.
Two engineers and a pilot, fresh out of school in Ottawa, first designed The Knockout in 2012 from a motley crew of plumbing parts. (Because when Canadians want to chug, a bottle chugger they will have!) After further developing the concept with a 3D model, and seeking out a product design team to assist with the contraption’s specs and logistics, The Knockout eventually won “Greatest Stoner Engineering Feat” at the 2013 Munchies Awards on Reddit. From there the trek across the country, from head shop to head shop, and eventually to Hempfest 2013 in Seattle, led the bong lords to their current online retail store and F You Up sensation.
To use The Knockout as a beer bong, fit the device onto any full bottle of beer, and invert. The stainless steel tube allows air to flow into the bottle, and the beer to flow out smoothly. Removing the bottom piece of The Knockout enables liquid to flow even faster–in the video, it’s 12 ounces down the hatch in around 3 seconds.
The one-hitter bowl on the end of the tube turns The Knockout into either a water bong or gravity bong as well. And the Grand Pooba of them all, the namesake of this partier’s ultimate accessory: The Knockout. Light your bowl as you chug the beer, and then move right to inhaling your sweet THC immediately upon finishing; the device fills with smoke as the beer empties out.
